Veluwezoom National Park

Veluwezoom National Park is a vast nature reserve of over 5.000 hectares and is part of the Veluwe, the largest contiguous nature reserve in the Netherlands. Here you will find a beautiful mix of forests, heathlands, sand drifts and historic estates. What makes Veluwezoom unique is the rolling landscape. Nowhere else on the Veluwe will you find so many hills and are the views so spectacular.

The Posbank: one of the most beautiful views in the Netherlands

One of the most iconic places in Veluwezoom National Park is the Postbank. This famous viewpoint is located at a height of 90 metres and offers a panoramic view of the heathlands, forests and sand drifts. On clear days you can even see Germany. Especially in August, when the heather is in bloom, the Posbank is a breathtaking place where nature and tranquility come together.

Peace and space in nature

Veluwezoom is a paradise for those seeking peace and quiet and nature lovers. With no less than 350 kilometres of walking and cycling paths, there is plenty of space to experience nature in peace. Deeper into the area, you will come to places where you will hardly encounter anyone, only the sounds of nature accompany your walk.

Rich flora and fauna

This nature reserve is home to an impressive variety of animals. Wild boars, roe deer and red deer roam the landscape and can move freely thanks to ecoducts such as the one at Terlet. In addition, Scottish highlanders, Icelandic horses and a flock of sheep live here, which contribute to the maintenance of the heathland and the open landscape. Thanks to this natural grazing, numerous special plants, birds and insects thrive here.

Estates and cultural history

The southern edge of Veluwezoom has a character all its own. Here lie centuries-old estates such as Beekhuizen, Heuven and Rhederoord, where stately avenues, old deciduous forests and streams adorn the landscape. Visit the sheepfold at Heuven or walk past the gatehouse of Rhederoord and experience the rich history of the area.
